Technology will save us

The London Tube Map Radio is a project i visited in Design Museum, it was really gabbed my attention in the exhibition. Because it was remained me of my childhood, when i was a little child, i observed again and again of the backside of my TV set in my house. I curious about why the moving imagines can be see in the front and what is inside of the TV-set. 

This year, the Designers in Residence project theme is Thrift and in response to this brief I have made projects which re-design the communication system of electronics.

Japanese designer Yuri Suzuki has made a radio from an electronic circuit board that’s arranged to look like the London tube map. The map is inspired by a spoof diagram created by the original designer of the London Tube map, Harry Beck, which shows the lines and stations as an annotated electrical circuit. Iconic landmarks on Suzuki’s map are represented by components relating to their functions, including a speaker where Speaker’s Corner sits and a battery representing Battersea Power Station.

Tell stories by illustration and photography

A project of "holding on" was remained me of my Childhood Project. "Holding On" was the final project for a class on digital color photography that Annaeas took at Maine College of Art in the fall of 2009. It features people I know with their childhood stuffed animals and blankets, and is intended to be viewed in book form with each pair of photos constituting a spread. 

The purpose of "Holding On" is to explore themes of memory and comfort by showing how adults interact with (and hold onto) the objects that meant the most to them in childhood. I found it interesting to observe the similarities in the way my subjects held their toys, and to hear the reminiscences they brought up.

The aforesaid three statements in the story-like form bravely reflect that behind their superficially happy childhood, children have to return to the cage prepared by their parents and the society, which shows that parents who expect too much of children take away their children’s freedom during childhood. 

Anna Sinnons's mapping illustrations

Anna Simmons is an illustrator who specialises in mapmaking，I found her mapping works on the Pretty Nostalgic Magazine. She did maps of London; South West of England; Scotland; England of which are colourful, iconic, and interesting cartoon maps. After visite her website i found more her mapping works which gave me a lot of inspirations for my all work.  I like use illustration form to present my graphic design work. I think good illustrations  can give us visual enjoyment and can tell its stories because most of it basics on the real life , the real objects and it has many details so it may give audiences some familiar feeling even more imaginations.

This LA mapping is my favorite, i like the gradient purple background while i do not know what it is? Personally, i think she did really magic and interesting map for a casino city... sometimes i feel it is like a board game,   sometimes i think it is a children's drawing, because it is makes me relaxed.
